How long should a typical fuel pump last- My vehicle is only 3 yrs old but has 62,000 miles. I have been told I need a new one. Also typically how much do they cost?

It is possible that the pump has gone bad, but that is really early. I've seen them last over 200K. As far as cost, an aftermarket pump can run 150 to 200 dollars. Labor should take about 3 hours.
