2004 Dodge Neon 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My starter on my car is sticking and I have to bang it, so it engauges. My car is a neon 04 2.0sx my friend has a brand knew starter still in the box from a neon 01 2,0 L. Will the 01 starter work on my 04.

no, 2000 - 2002 neon starters will work, 2004 will not work on 2001..
