2002 Dodge Neon Stuck In First!!

Transmission problem
2002 Dodge Neon 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100k+ miles

My car won't shift out of first gear when i put it in drive or try it manually also my speedometer doesn't work and the engine light is on. this all happened at the same time leading me to believe that this is all connected?!

Have the PCM scanned and give us the codes. Without the scanned codes, I would say your input and/or output speed sensor, or may be both... But don't anything yet, until we have the codes . Just go to Autozone or CSK/O'Reilly. They will do it for free.
