Steering problem
2002 Dodge Neon 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
I need to remove the steering arm. How do I remove it to have it repaired?

Unfortunately this is not a backyard mechanic job. These models are equipted with airbags which not only can be damaged (not just the bag but the components in the column) But are potentially life threatening if they go off while working on the car. Also these cars are built using a net build front suspension alignment settings. The front end setting are determined as the vehicle is being built and the front crossmember must be put back in exaclty in the same location on the body to maintain correct front end alignment. There is alot of other reasons not to attempt this job yourself. If its about saving money by doing it yourself you can cost yourself alot more by not letting a mechanic do this job. Sorry but it is not an easy job. MORT
