Check engine light on showing code PO 420. Catalyst 1/1 effi failure. What do I need to check first? Site is saying oxygen sensor, catalytic converter. Not sure where to start.

Check for any dents or holes in the converter, check for any exhaust leaks, If the 02 sensors have not been replaced yet, it's past time, do both. If problem persists, after 02 replacement, you will have to replace the converter too!
