2000 neon auto. While driving my rpm's will go to 0 but the car does'nt always die. Sometimes it takes a few seconds and they come back up and the car drives fine. Sometimes it will die but always starts right up and then drives fine. It usually does this once a day. The rest of the day no problems.

Does it do it as you are coming to stop
or after you move you foot of the gas
do you have check engine light on ?
was the battery replace or died recently
if so this is what need to be done
disconnect battery negative terminal
clean throttle body
reconnect battery
start engine let it idle than take it for a long ride
that should get the pcm to relearn the RPM

need manual CHECK IT @

My guess is losing signal from the camshaft position sensor, but shouldn't the "Check Engine" light be on with cam sensor code set in memory?
