2000 Dodge Neon Please Help Me

I have a 2000 dodge Neon and when I come to a stop at a red light or something, the oil light comes on. Its not low on oil. And now its starting to hesitate a little and big puffs of smoke come out of it. What is the problem and what do I do?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge-if normal readings replace the oil pressure switch-abnormal could be the oil pump/engine bearings/clogged screen/gallleries etc-
