1998 Dodge Neon When Car is Floored pops into neutral

When i push down the gas pedal to go into passing gear it pops itself into neutral, all I have to do to continue going is put it back in drive.

Hi there,

Have the engine & transmission mounts checked, as the engine may move far enough to pull on the selector cable and knock it into neutral, start here.

The kick down linkage shaft sticks in transmission housing,check if tight or bent.
