1997 Dodge Neon replaced rear wheel brake line

While driving the brakes stopped working.
I replaced the rear wheel brake line but it still does not work.

When the car is off there is no "give" when I push the brake pedal. When car is on there is too much "give".

Was the brake line broken ?
and after replacing the line did you bleed the system
you need to bleed the system and get the air out of the system
