Whenever I'm driving my car it will squeal/squeak and at the same time it will feel as if my car is jerking back. It feels like it's coming from the back of the car when I'm driving but when I'm in the passenager seat I don't seem to notice it as much. Normally it only last for a second but the other day it felt more like three seconds. It happens at random but occurs more frequently when I'm driving on the expressway. Sometimes it's loud and other times it just sounds like a low honk.

Have you checked the brakes and wheel bearings?

My husband put on new brake pads and I'm assuming he would've noticed if the barrings were going out.

Really the only thing back there that would make that type of noise would be brakes or bearings. It could be rust from a brake drum. As far as replacing the brakes, he may not have checked the wheel bearings.
