I have a 96 neon that on occassion the transmission seems to slip or not get into gear. I usually go about 40 mph and then the vehicle will not go any faster. This happens about 1-2 times per week. It almost feels like it is in overdrive but it isn't. The other times, I can go 65 + with no problems. I am wondering if it would need a transmission tune up or something. All the fluids are at the proper levels and no lights come on.

regards.

r u sure its the tranny
no check engine light on
if the tranny slips or not shift TCM will command a check engine light
so I think u need to have it check to determine if its the tranny or fuel pressure or so
