1996 Dodge Neon

I have a check engine light on that has gone on and then went off. Now it is on and I was told that it could be a oxgen sensor.I have a 96 dodge neon and I am wondering how long I can go without getting it fixed. Also how much should it cost to get it fixed in new york, and how long would it take to fix it. I am worried.

Well 1st step should be, knowing the reason why check engine light is on
you can do so by having it scanned for codes
most local part stores and repair shop will scan it for free(ask)
Auto zone for example
have it scan and post back the code s
we will be able to help u more
