I have a 95 dodge neon it excelerates good but when you reach a cruising speed the car will cut out and check engine light flashes and then stays on permanent. As long as you hold the excelerater in the same spot it spits and sputers but if you push on the peddle it takes off and runs smooth. Any ideas?

There is always at least one memorized when the Check Engine light was on. If you'd rather try throwing parts at it, try a MAP sensor. That was a common cause years ago for cars being hauled in on a tow truck because they wouldn't stay running, but I could often drive them into the shop by constantly moving the gas pedal.
