The collar where the release bearing slides onto broke off and I will need to change the end bearing which contains the collar. Do I split the transmission case and puch the old bearing out and push a new bearing/collar in? Is there anything I need to really worry about like springs flying out when I split the case? Do you have a schematic of the 5-speed manual transmission?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

We just encountered the same problem and took the risk to split the trans. nothing sprung or fell apart though it does look like there may be a slight issue putting it back together. there are some roller bearings that need to be alligned properly to get it back together. take your time and everything will work out fine. have fun.
