2002 Dodge intrepid 44,000 miles. I just got trouble codes P0700 "Transmission Control System Malfunction". And P0740 "Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfuction" when i clear the code it stays off for a day or two then returns randomely. The car drives the same with no noticible changes in power? Dont know if this is a shop or home fix?

I have just spent 1 month trying to figure out my 02 Intrepid transmission problem which is not the same as yours. however, the conclusion is the same. Don't waste your time. Take the care to AAMCO and get them to hook it up to there diagnostic computer which will tell you whether the problem is insde the transmission or outside(sensors, transmissiln control unit etc). Once you know you can take it from there.

My problem is very common on the Intrepid...the transmission solenoid pack went bad at 53,000. Fixed for $500.You may want to think about this when you have a repair....have the solenoid and valve body flushed and new oil and filter. It may save you a bundle down the road.
