On both a 3.5L or 2.7L they sense a sprocket on the camshaft of the top part of the cylinder head. They mount on the cylinder head near the front part of the engine. A 10mm bolt holds it on. It has a wire connector. The cylinder heads are covered by covers called valve covers. The code you have is for a camsensor signal lost or not worhing right? Top of engine, usually left front. Ok If the timing belt is broken or out of time, you will also get this code sometimes, the engine won't start or it will run terribly.

Oh anytime. On any V type engine configuration The camshaft is usually through the middle front to back. Usually front. On overjhead cam it is usually left side. Persevere. Anytime. Do not let yourself get hurt. And after a good rest things get better, and you will get it.
Now Mitsubishi would have overhead cams and place it on left cam because it was closest to the lower drive sprocket and more direct. They have great manuals available and repair steps also.
