2004 Dodge Intrepid Automatic 75,000 miles
Hi, again, I've run into an issue with our Intrepid, we took our car in for an Oil change at the beginning of last week and when we got the invoice there was a note that said "PVC hose broken" we didn't notice the note until we looked at the invoice a few days later while we were filing it, we called them up and asked them about it and he said it was cracked and it could break any time now and it would be about $80 to fix (P&L). I changed the air filter this past Friday night and the first thing I noticed is that the coolant was very low, about a quarter inch below the minimum line. I then looked around and saw what I thought was the hose he was talking about, it's broken in half it seems. There was a chunk sitting on top of the motor casing, it's about an inch or so big and feels pretty brittle. Anyways, we've been driving around with it like that for who knows how long. Friday through today for sure, but we haven't noticed anything different, the car temp is normal and there are no warning lights on or anything. So I guess my questions are 1) Does this seem like the hose our Mech. May have been talking about? 2) we can't really take the car in until Wednesday, so you think we're safe until then? It seems like it's connected to the coolant tank.
Thanks for any help!
