2003 Dodge Intrepid car jerks when I stop

my trans mission jerks when I'm coming to stop. when I accelerate it won't change gears. It's like stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. If I put it in park and turn off the engine then restsart it drives fine. It does it once per trip.

Hi:
It sounds like an electric shift solenoid in the trans. You could try having the computer scanned for codes. Most nationally recognized parts stores will do it for free.
