2003 Dodge Intrepid Break Fluid

If brakes are performing great, why does service tech say brake fluid looks dark ( from heat) and should be replaced. Says the same thing about power steering fluid.

Hello and thanks for the donation!

Although the components may be working properly NOW, that doesn't mean they will continue to work properly without proper maintenance. Replacing the fluids will prolong the life of your vehicle's power steering and brake system. Same for the engine and transmission. You should have the engine oil and transmisison fluid inspected and replaced on a regular maintenance schedule
