Brakes problem 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 63000 miles

I had a question about the 2 clips that go on the Intrepid front brakes. When I changed the first time I was told I didn't need them. Now the car squeaks like crazy. I went and bought new ones, but for the life of me I can't figure out how they go on. Please help!!

Did you have the rotors machined? If not that is most likely why they are squeeking, not because of the clips. If we are talking about the same clips, they go on the end of the pads to keep them from rattling, but the pads themselves should have spring retainers to hold them to the caliper. When you replace pads, you should always machine therotors to give the new pad material a fresh surface to mate to.If the rotor is shiny/uneven it will cause alot of noise. Also use high quality brake pads, cheap ones tend to be noisy
