2002 Dodge Intrepid Transmission Kicks in 1st gear

Have you checked the solenoid? Shift solenoids fail causing shift problems. I check them with a ohm meter and check resistance and then use a power probe to supply voltage and ground to them and see if I can hear them click. You might want to take it to a tranny shop to have them hook up the scanner to it, they can command solenoids on and off without taking transmission apart. Hope this helps
