2002 Dodge Intrepid not sure if its a thermostate

my vehicle is running hot its going past the half way point and the heater is not blowing out hot air its cool air the fan is kicking on?? but not sure if its a thermostat or head gasket??

The first thing to check will be the coolant level. It is at the appropriate level? If it is, feel the radiator hoses and squeeze them. Can you feel the coolant being pushed through or do you just feel a small weak stream of coolant?

ok if the coolant flow seems weak through the hoses then i would suspect a faulty / weak water pump. do you notice any noises or leaks coming from the water pump area?
