2002 Dodge Intrepid Error Code p0700

The code reads transmission control module failure.

The car periodically (usually when making stops) will slam into second gear and get stuck there. The only way to fix the problem thus far has been to pull over, park, and restart the car.

If it is a sensor or whatever how do we fix it?
