i have a 2002 dodge intrepid that just recently had a bushing go bad in the idler pulley... i bought a new pulley and a new belt. but after i put them on and tightened the belt the pulley wiggles around still. so my question is .. is there supposed to be a spacer or a spring on or behind the pulley to keep it from moving or wiggling? i have been looking and asking people and noone seems to know. not even the DODGE DEALERSHIPS!!!!!

Hello,

There is a spaced that goes behind the idler pulley as it gets mounted to the bracket.
You should be able to reuse the spacer when you took off the old pulley.
Without it the pulley will not align properly, and the bell can come off

I have attached a diagram for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
