2001 Dodge Intrepid Intermittent Electrical Problem

If it is a fuse, once things stop working, they won't restart. Thus, I believe you have either a bad ground or a loose connection. Check for loose or rusted body grounds. Also, make sure the ground to the engine block is good.

Thank you for the response. I think you're correct about there being a lose wire. When I wiggle the main fuse box, everything works again but it's only temporary. Do you think it's something that needs to be saudered on the fuse box or do you still believe it's a lose ground wire?

Chances are it isn't a ground if that happens. What I suggest doing is this. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery. Remove the power distribution box where you noticed a potential problem. Turn it over and check for corrosion, damage, or wiring that appears loose. I think you found the source of the problem. Now you just need to narrow it down to the exact location.

NOTE: When you loosten the box, be careful not to damage any of the wiring. Also, pay attention for wires that may have melted the plastic around where the wire enters the box.

I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid R/T with 68,000 miles.. I have the same problems with the dash lights, windows, A/C, etc... I found out that if I shake the ignition all the power comes back. So I checked with Dodge and they said that its the ignition sensor behind the key tumbler. Dodge said this happens due to the weight all your keys have pulling on the ignition. The part is about $60.00 however I have not changed it yet. I just put the car back on the road after paying $1,400.00 for a trans..
