Upon starting the vehicle, the throttle will open and the speedometer will register 80 to 100 miles per hour, and continue to jump and fall while still in Park.

I recently had a mechanic install a new transmission and some kind of sensor, which apparently is failing. The car will go into gear if the speedometer remains at 0 upon first starting, but a few minutes into my 3.3 mile drive to work, the speedometer will starting jumping erratically and the transmission will slam into gear if I need to accelerate, or if I am stopped at a traffic light, will not go into 1st gear at all.

As long as the speedometer registers my actual speed, there is no problem at all with the transmission.

Please advise, thank you.
