2001 Dodge Intrepid

01 2.7 intrepid is leaking by the thermostat ther are 3 bolt holes connecting the housing about a 1/4 inch from the bottom bolt ther is another hole and water is leaking from there it is a drip drip drip. What is this for and what can I do to stop this leak

If this is the piece right in the front center of the engine, they are very notorious for those leaking. That consisted of a whole pipe that runs under the intake manifold. You have to get the part from the dealer.

On a 01 2.7 intrepid the thermostat is located on the side of the engine the hole I am refering to is just under it I'm guessing it is a weeper hole for the water pump I hope I'm wrong
