2000 Dodge Intrepid valves?

Replaced the engine 4 years ago with a rebuilt one. Recently the engine light started flashing, mechanic says valve job. Is this expensive, or should I junk the car? How long would the engine last if repaired?

Im not psychic, so I cant tell you how long the engine will last if repaired.It is an expensive job though,book calls for 13-14 hours of labor, plus the gaskets and machine shop charges.
