2000 Dodge Intrepid Starting, and hesitating

My car does not start up immediately it hesitates. Also While driving it will hesitate with like a jerk when trying to move up in speed.

Hi, how long since a tune-up? Any trouble codes? With an extended crank, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. Spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure, while the problem is ongoing. Some of the national brand autustores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage. I always start with the basic tests.
