The timing chain is in place, but the car has no compression. The car turns over and tries to start but wont.

The motor is an interference engine that means if chain is off and engine rotated pistons hit valves. Did chain go while driving or was crank turned during replacement? Yes to either question bent valves

Yes valves move, cam not broken, gonna have to give to mechanic, Im $800.00 in it and haven't found the problem.

What is compression per cyl? Is it 0 or low on all cyl?
What prompted the chain replacement?

Chain wasn't replaced, water pump was which is connected to chain. Some valves have 30 psi and another 60psi.

Before you removed chain was engine TDC all marks lined up? Was chain tensioner removed? When installed did crank gear line up with mark about5 o'clock and where cam gears at top on mark?
