1999 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello,
I have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid. It has no compression when trying to start the engine, and wont start at all. I was told it's the rings on my pistons. If that is true wont I get atleast some compression and fire? How can I know?

Regardless if you need rings, there would be some compression. Did you check it yourself? Did it actually have 0 psi in each cylender? Did you check for a broken timing belt?
