1999 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i just bought a 99 intrepid off a friend. He took it to a mechanic who told him the head gasket was blown, upon removing the heads we found the water pump was bad. After replacing all components together with new pump and gaskets the motor wont start, we are getting fuel and replaced the plugs. We followed the repair manual but are stuck on what is keeping the motor from fireing but it will turn over

Are you getting spark to the engine? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? If both are good, recheck engine compression and timing.

Let me know what you find.

IF you are getting spark and fuel to the engine, then either the timing is out, or there isn't enough compression for it to start. Do you have a gauge to check the compression?
