1998 Dodge Intrepid Front Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles

transmission shifts fine hot and cold.,except when you go from park to drive it hesitates(does not go into gear for 2 to 3 seconds) this is my first time using your service so im going to use the free one this time also i would like to make donation using a phone # i could call i dont feel comfortable putting a card # on the internet i just went through getting my info stolen

Is the transmission fluid clean and full? When was the last service?

i just bought the car, the fluid smells pretty good, not real dirty, it probably wasnt serviced, i thought maybe the intrepids had a known problem like im having thank you for responding.

What I would suggest, since you just got it, service the transmission and purchase a good additive to it for shifting. It could be a seal that is getting hard and allowing fluid to bypass it. As a result, it takes an extra second or two for it to shift.
