I had a bad raddle under the dash. I changed the struts and tie rods and some of the noise is gone, but no all. There is some slack in the steering in the center. The front end shop cannot find any looseness in the suspention. Do you think it could be the rack and pinion that is making the noise and can the looseness be adjusted or will need to replace the rack.

Worn anti-sway bar links are common on these cars for making noise. You'll hear it the best when driving very slowly through a parking lot, and the noise will go away when turning slightly in either direction. A rattle in the dashboard is not a suspension problem.

If the rattle seems to be related to loose steering, look for loose rack and pinion mounting bolts allowing it to move back and forth a little.

These cars are known for the inner tie rod end bushings going bad. Have them checked and replaced as needed.
