1996 Dodge Intrepid HEATER CORE

i would flush the heater core
remove the heater hoses and run water and compressed air if possible throw one out the other and vice versa

The hoses are difficult to get to, had to buy a special tool to get the spring clamps off since there's no room to work.
I replaced the heater core myself. Had to remove everything in front of the seats all the way to the firewall to get to it. It wasn't difficult, just time consuming. If you have the money, it's well worth it to have a pro do the job.
