How far can you turn the steering wheel before the tires begin to turn?

The tires don't move at all you can turn the steering wheel alot but it wiil stop tires don't move

Then either a steering component (tie rods) or the rack has come disconnected from the steering column (very odd). Have you checked those things? The only other thing is if the rack has come apart internally. Again, that is very odd.

If the you can see the steering shaft turning the rack but nothing is happening, the only thing you can do is replace the rack and pinion.

It turned out to be just two bolts that hold the tie rod ends in place that broke at the rack. Thank you so much for your help. Zeb656
