Computer problem
1994 Dodge Intrepid 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
When cold it doesnt want to shift into any gear higher than 2nd at least not without the engine being completely warmed up first.
Then when pulling up to stops it occassionally has the fuel light flip on, even though there's plenty of gas in it, and it downshifts all by itself into 3rd and low and even sometimes has the gearlight on the dash go completely out or even completely light up.
Once it downshifts into a frenzy the transmission acts really jumpy and can go into a spell, all be it very rarely. I can be driving and a quick one of these spells occurs and next thing you know im driving down the road in 1st or 2nd gear and it wont shift higher than 2nd, at least not without me stopping her and restarting the car, i assume this creates a rebooting of its computer thats why that works.
Please help no auto shop can figure it out.
