1994 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Automatic 95000 miles

I have a 94 dodge intrepid. It heats up. First of all there is no radiator cap in radiator there is only a overflow bottle. There was a small crack on top of radiator we put plastic weld on it it fixed that. But the prob is it overheats in a matter of 20 minutes and all the water goes out and steam comes out of the upper hose (which is disconnected, we dont where it goes. As we just bought car) pls. Help thanks.

Have you fixed the problem? As far as the question, when you say the upper radiator hose is disconnected, are you refering to the small hose from the overflow?

check out our tip sheet on this common issue at https://www.2carpros.com/first_things/engine_over_heats.htm

That makes sense. Have you tried replacing the thermostat?
