1993 Dodge Intrepid Electric issue

Hi guys. My '93 Dodge Intrepid has an interesting issue. Intermittently, all of the gauges and indicator lights in the dash will not work at all. Also when this occurs, the transmission locks itself in 2nd gear (safe mode). Car starts and runs good. I've replaced the dash gauge panel - didn't fix it. It doesn't have any codes either. Could this be a bad computer module? Does this car have more than one computer?
