Hi, I am trying to help a neighbor of mine fix his car alarm problem on a 94' dodge eagle vision ts1 or something like that. He states that it went of on him at work and he could not understand why.

He said that people at his job told him that it was just a battery gone bad so he said he got in started the car, "o.K."

He said after he got home, he woke to the next morning only to find that his car wouldn't start. He said his horn and lights started flashing.

Today Wednesday December 26, 2007; I tried showing him where his problem could be coming from.

We troubleshot a couple of problems by: (1) restarting everything by disconnecting the battery [actually we also put a new battery in] (2) we replaced the fuse.

My options of help has be exhausted and now I am seeking so major professional know-how help.

Is this something to do with the alarm box in the center deck column, or the fuse or something of ease. Or does this mean dealership time? Your help is appreciated.

{Thorough information of the problem}

1. When started, the car comes on then immediately turns off.

2. When the key is in the ignition the alarm goes off ( the key does not disarm the alarm)

What you seem to be experiencing is Chrysler's Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). It activates to disable the fuel injectors whenever an alarm condition is triggered. If everything is working properly, it is very easy to disable the VTSS. All you need to do is unlock your car with the key fob [if you have Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)], or unlock the driver's side door with your key, from the outside. (Placing the key in the ignition switch and/or attemtping to start the car will not reset VTSS.) If these procedures do not reset the built-in alarm, then you have more serious wiring or component problems.
