If you replaced the transmission cylanoid and now it won't go into second gear, the belt inside the transmission is locking up. The transmission also has electronis built inside it and if you didn't remove the battery cable when you replace the cylanoid, it could have fried the internal electronics in the transmission. I had a '91 and the transmission wnet out. I put a new one in it and fried the internal mech. Without knowing it and had to take the transmission back. They told me about the mech. And gave me a new transmission anyway (reluctantly). I made sure to disconnect all power and installed it. It worked fine. So either way, unfortunatly, you are PROBABLY going to have to replace the transmission. Good Luck, It took me awhile to do it on my garage floor.
