Turn signal issue with 2000 Durango

My GF has a 2000 Durango with 80,000 miles and for a few months the turn signal will stop working intermittently. Now this last week they have stopped working completely. I checked the manual and the only suggestion is to check the fuse which I have done. I also did verify that the emergency flashers work fine. Another bit of information is that while the flashers were working intermittently you could manually flash the signals by just pulling the lever multiple times. Also you do not see anything on the console or hear a flashing sound when now.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Believe it or not they have this part called a flasher! Try replacing it!

Really a flasher. Actually I was hoping this forum may provide some insight into this as the owners manual has no information on the flasher location and the emergency flashers still work. It has been taken to the dealer once for the issue and they couldn't find the issue.

I believe they do, but haven't really checked. Anything special I should look for?
