I have noticed that over the last couple of months that when I start my car it sounds funny. When I drive it makes a sound almost like a boat noise. Sometimes I can't hear it after driving for awhile. What is this noise?

does the noise fade away or change as you turn right or left
and if so I would suspect wheel bearing and hub assembly
