My car is overheating, my husband changed the thermostat and it is still overheating. There is water in the radiator, and we are just at a loss! Help us please!

Are there any mechanical signs of overheating? Such as the radiator coolant boiling, or any smoke? If the engine isn't actually overheating, it may be the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor at fault, causing the temp. gauge to read inaccurate. If you are certain that the engine is indeed overheating, inspect the water pump and flush the radiator.
