When the air conditioner is turned on there is a constant clicking noise comming from the compressor. Could this be caused by anything besides the compressor is going bad? Would being low on refrigerant possible cause this?

Low freon will cause the compressor to engage on and off quickly. A bad AC clutch can be the problem of the cycle switch. Check the power to the compressor to see if it is constant.

Let me know what you find.
