Should the temperature guage have a higher standard operating temperature when it is 100 degrees outside versus 75?

the thermostat will open at its specified temp. to cool off the engine..if it is warmer outside then it will just heat up the engine quicker and cause the thermostat to open sooner. the engine temp. should still remain the same.
