2001 Dodge Durango Engine Loud

My engine seems louder than normal I understand that it is a V8 engine it just sounds overly loud when I press on gas it sounds like its in park while I'm pressing on the gas that kind of loud.

So tell me how is the exhaust system? Any holes in the muffler or any gaskets leaking?

No their are no leaks I think I found the answer. I do have another question what are the signs when the torque converter is going out?

Well it just depends on what happens. It can make noises or cause slipping or not go into lockup etc. What is happening? Do think that is what you noise is? If so then can you make it do the noise in park? If so then use a long screw driver or an automotive stethiscope and put it to the bell housing and listen to it.
