Kept losing freon, put in Napa super seal and compressor was running, started adding freon and all of a sudden it stopped and clutch was binding to point where it smoked. Tried to release freon but still have problem.

When system has freon leak it also looses oil needed to lubricate compressor. so when you added freon compressor started working but no oil to lube it locks smoking clutch. so will need new comp. and need to find and repair leak or it's a repeat.
