1999 Dodge Durango how do I get the fan off

trying to change the water pump ,I have removed the serpentine belt and now can not get the fan off the nut just spin the whole assembly

use fan wrench to remove fan clutch assembly from pump by turning nut counterclockwise as viewed from front. you should remove the fan and shroud assembly as a unit.
