I was told my heat core went out after I pulled over and smoke was coming out from the heat and air vents. Is this something I can fix myself or roughly how much does it cost to have fixed. I was told it is labor intensive and really am strapped for cash.

sounds like a bad heater core to me too!!!

it is VERY labor intensive, such as removing the dash just to get at the stupid thing...

its about 6 hours of labor at a shop and thats quite some money..
